Day 1: ARRIVE DELHI – BY INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT
Assisted on arrival and transferred hotel. Half-day sight seeing of Delhi.
Day 2: DELHI – BAGDOGRA – BY FLIGHT – DARJEELING (2,165 M / 7,100 FT) – BY SURFACE / 88 KM / APPROX 3 HRS
Fly from Delhi to Bagdogra & Darjeeling, the Queen Of Hill Stations. The evening is at leisure.
Day 3: IN DARJEELING
Early morning start to view the sunrise on Mt Khanchen Dzonga (the third highest mountain in the world) from Tiger Hill. On way back to the hotel can visit Ghoom Monastery. After breakfast at the hotel proceed to ride the World Heritage Toy Train & local sightseeing.
Day 4: DARJEELING – PELLING (2,121 M / 7000 FT) – BY SURFACE / 123 KM / APPROX 5 HRS
Drive to Pelling. In the evening visit Pemayangtse Monastery & the Rabdentse Ruins.
Day 5: PELLING – GANGTOK (1,759 M / 5,805 FT) – BY SURFACE / 117 KM / APPROX 4 HRS
From Pelling drive to the State Capitol – Gangtok en-route stop to visit Rumtek Monastery & the Nalanda Institute for Higher Buddhist Studies. The evening is at leisure.
Day 6: IN GANGTOK – GANGTOK – KAMLIMPONG (1,200 M / 3,936 FT) – BY SURFACE / 72 KM / APPROX 2 ½ HRS
Full-day sightseeing of Gangtok – visit Enchey Monastery, Government Institute of Cottage Industries, the Research Institute of Tibetology the wild.
In the afternoon drive to Kalimpong, in the evening, proceed to some of the famous flower nurseries in Kalimpong. Also visit the two Kalimpong bazaars.
Day 7: KALIMPONG – CHALSA – BY SURFACE / 118 KM / APPROX 4 HRS
Early morning witness excellent views of the surrounding countryside from Durpindra Monastery. From Kalimpong journey via Lava (2,182 M) to the Doars at Chalsa.
Day 8: CHALSA – PHUNTSHOLING – BY SURFACE / APPROX 2 ½ HRS – THIMPU (2,303 M / 7,600 FT) – BY SURFACE / 176 KM / APPROX 6 HRS
A scenic drive through the tea gardens brings one to a typical Bhutanese Gate that greets visitors at the entrance of Phuntsholing from here drive to Thimphu.
Day 9: IN THIMPU
Full-day sightseeing of Thimphu. Visit to The Textile Museum, Changangkha Lhakhang, The Folk Heritage Museum (Phelchey Toenkhyim, The School of Traditional Arts, Hospital of Indigenous Medicine. Dominating the scene is Thimpu’s Dzong, named Tashichoedzong.
Day 10: THIMPU – PUNAKHA – BY SURFACE / 77 KM / APPROX 2 HRS – WANGDUE PHODRANG – BY SURFACE / 21 KM / APPROX 20 MINS
From Thimphu drive to Punakha across Dochu La (3,050 m / 10,000 ft) where one visits the Punakha Dzong. After the visit drive to Wangdue Phodrang.
Day 11: WANGDUE PHODRANG – PARO – BY SURFACE / 128 KM / APPROX 3 ½ HRS
After breakfast visit Wangdue Phodrang Dzong and then drive to Paro. In the evening visit the Rinpung Dzong or Paro Dzong. Thereafter take a stroll along the main street of downtown Paro.
Day 12: IN PARO
After an early morning breakfast, drive for about 8 km to Satsam Chorten for a half-day hike to Taktsang Monastery. Returning from the monastery visit the Drukyel Dzong. Later in the afternoon visit the National Museum. Thereafter visit Paro Dzong. The evening is free to take a down town stroll along Paro’s Main Street.
Day 13: PARO – DELHI – BY DRUK AIR FLIGHT
Leave Bhutan by a Druk Airways flight to Delhi. Received at Delhi & transferred to hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 14: IN DELHI – DEPARTURE DELHI – BY INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT
Full-day sightseeing of Delhi. Later in the evening transferred to the International Airport to board flight back home.
